I always considered myself "not a romance reader" - I just read books with romance IN them. Ha. But I followed a link from Charlaine Harris's itinerary to the RT Con and found what seems to be my dream writing (and reading!) convention.
So many of 'my' authors are going to be there (Harris; + Kelley Armstrong, Jim Butcher, Ilona Andrews, Melissa Marr, Holly Black)....
And I've already done an extensive read through the workshops! (Just digging into the official itinerary now). I'd definitely be digging into the craft, marketing, and several genres (urban fantasy & YA especially, but also steampunk, paranormal, and vampire).... plus some reader workshops.
I'm not signed up yet... but I'm PRETTY sure I will - and I just wanted to share my excitement with people who would understand! |

I totally understand. But I've known about the convention for years and have never been able to go and I always say maybe next year it will be closer, I'll have more money, etc....
I registered a few weeks ago and I'm so excited ! I keep checking the workshop lists to see if anything new was added and just cannot wait till April ! |

Thanks to both of you. I'm getting more into the convention by the day. (Dangerous )
Amy - congrats on being able to attend your first year (also?) |

Pysche,
You should take Judi McCoys Beg. Writers class, it is soooo much fun
and you get a ton of information out of it! Plus we have a blast! She has a special chat page for her students and really you learn the behind the scenes to the publishing businesss. She has an awesome line up of guest speakers also! Think about it!
Where do you live in Ontario? my husband worked there for a year and we lived in Windsor for the entire year! Love it up there!!! _________________ As Scarlett would say "I cant think about that now, I'll think about that tomorrow, after all tomorrow is another day" |
