I enjoy historical romances because they are set in times and
places so opposite from my own. I find the fantasy aspect of an
historical romance adds to its reading enjoyment. My favorite
types of romance novels are those set in Medieval times,
especially those set in Scotland. I can't explain why this land
draws me so strongly, but I love the imagery of the landscapes
and the people. Scottish heroes start out so very defined and
imposing, but you just know that love will change them. It's fun
reading along as love conquers all!
My collection of romances set in Scotland has grown over the last
few years, and I'm glad to see so many authors using Scottish
heroes and heroines. Authors who consistently write Scottish
romances (and they're always on my TBB - to be
bought - list) are Hannah Howell, Susan King, May McGoldrick,
Arnette Lamb, Jillian Hunter, Suzanne Barclay, and Ellen Tanner
Marsh. But, as with any true romance reader, I'm also looking for
new authors to savor!
