Romances have always been my favorite genre. It doesn't matter if
it's a contemporary, historical, regency, time travel, or
futuristic; nothing relaxes me more than reading a good romance.
A story that can make me laugh out loud or shed a ton of tears
indicates an excellent read for me. The book has to touch on my
emotions for it to be a classic in my eyes.
I have certain authors that are automatic buys for me, as well as
certain storylines (such as amnesia). A book that I can't get out
of my head, a story I think about after that last page is turned,
goes straight on my keeper shelf. A "keeper" is a book that
completely transports me to another place and time. I keep a huge
collection of these on shelves in my basement, in the hopes that
someday I will reread them. I very rarely do, however, as I have
so many new novels to explore. But there are some books that just
stay with me. By helping me unwind from a stressful day at work,
romances play a big part in my life. I can't imagine my life
without them, or without Romantic Times BOOKclub.
