John DeSalvo

Cover Model John Desalvo Ever since the incredibly handsome John DeSalvo won the Mr. Romance Cover Model Pageant his career has been meteoric. John has been featured in print and on television, where he is universally dubbed, "the new Fabio." With his magnificent physique, skin of sun-bronzed satin and sultry gaze, John has steamed up more than three hundred romance covers…move over Fabio! John is such a hot item that all the publishing houses are eager to book him for the covers of their soon-to-be released romances. Authors are equally excited to have him appear as the image of their romantic hero. Virginia Henley was thrilled to have John as the "naked" wonder on the cover of DESIRED; as were Ruth Langan and Christina Dodd when he appeared on the cover of Ruth's futuristic epic THE HIGHLANDER and Christina's THE GREATEST LOVER IN ALL ENGLAND.

After returning from Nashville as the 1994 Mr. Romance Cover Model winner, an elaborate victory party was given for John at the trendy Harley Davidson Cafe in New York City. Friends, family and the media were there to congratulate the soft spoken and sexy cover model. Comedian Tom Arnold made an appearance at the festivities and was impressed with John's incredible presence–especially when John drove up on his gleaming black "Fat Boy" Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Cover Model John Desalvo Already a successful model and professional body builder, John has now set his sights on a career in Hollywood. Readers can look for John in the Warner Brothers release, "Batman Forever." One of the perks of landing the role as a bad guy was hanging out with superstars Tommy Lee Jones, Val Kilmer and Jim Carrey. "You won't see my face, it's masked, but you can recognize my chest," laughs John, proud of his half-Italian, half-French heritage. "I wish I could've been unmasked for my fans," he teases, "but I know that they will still recognize me because I'm the thug with a ponytail in a revealing sleeveless shirt!"

Landmark Productions signed him for a poster and calendar contract and John's 1996 Calendar "Mr. Romance" was the top-selling male calendar of the year. Romance lovers certainly clamored for those oh-so-sexy pictures of their favorite fantasy man. Just imagine having John in the privacy of your bedroom, or kitchen, or closet at his very best, twelve different ways!

John has appeared as a special guest on several TV shows, including "Entertainment Tonight," "Hard Copy," "Inside Edition," "F/X," "America's Talking," "Rolanda," "Live with Regis and Kathie Lee," "TNN's Country Today" and "WABC-TV Eyewitness News." Last month John was the special guest on "AM-Philadelphia," a television morning show that devoted the entire episode to John and romance. He also had a great time meeting and signing autographs for his adoring and swooning fans at Gene's Books, located in the second largest mall in the country in King of Prussia. "The way the fans greeted me was incredible; they made me feel like a superstar!" exclaims John. "Meeting my romance fans is wonderful–their excitement and devotion is one of the best things about being 'Mr. Romance Cover Model.'"

Cover Model John Desalvo "I love all the romance fans," he says, "if it wasn't for them I wouldn't be where I am today."

The skinny kid from a poor, single-parent home in the Bronx has come a long way. He says he's made his mother "crazy proud."

John himself is very personable, charming, chivalrous, and easy to look at. While he is forging a career in Hollywood, his well-defined physique will be on countless romance covers this fall. His fans are quite happy that he's building a career on his ability to make otherwise rational women weak at the knees.
